Amoki Jr. “The house of the BIG burrito” is a small restaurant located in the heart of La Punta.
The place is located one street back from the beach on the main road of La Punta, in the most iconic alley in the area.
Amoki Jr. is well known in Puerto Escondido for having huge burritos which are almost big enough for two people to share.
We would recommend visiting this restaurant for dinner after 6:00 pm at La Punta beach. The seating options here are quite limited and it is located next to Fish Shack which is very popular so there can sometimes be an overflow.

Popular for being the best burritos in town, Amoki Jr. is known for this particular dish as their menu options are very limited. However, they also serve delicious burgers and snacks that are worth trying.
The chicken and beef burritos are the most popular ones, they all have grated cheese, bell pepper, onion, beans, and avocado, don’t forget to try their spicy sauces.
Their menu also offers fish, chorizo, and cecina burritos, as well as vegan and vegetarian options.
When it comes to drinks, they offer sodas, fresh water (ask for the flavors), and national beers.
This place has a “fast-food” concept, just to eat and leave as it’s not very comfortable to stay longer and chill.
Usually, you need to place your order at the bar and pay right away, then someone from the staff will deliver your food to the table.
Its busiest time of the day is after sunset as people return from the beach looking for some place to get some dinner.
With no more than five tables, make sure you get there as soon as the sun sets. Otherwise, you can visit Amoki Jr. from 1:00 to 5:00 pm with no worries about the place being packed.
They accept cash and card but take into consideration that you might need to pay a fee (5%) for it and may have to consume a minimum (usually 100 pesos).
Considering the price and the generous portions, Amorki Jr. is one of the best places to eat around La Punta and in all of Puerto Escondido. You won’t spend more than 150 pesos per person.
