Cactus Beach Club is probably one of the most popular and versatile venues in all of Puerto Escondido.
If you’ve been in Puerto Escondido for a while and you hear the word Cactus the first thought that comes to mind is Blue Monday, the party where the drinks flow freely until 5:00 am.
Where is the Cactus Bar
Cactus beach club is located in Zicatela right on Playa Zicatela beach. Taxies can drop you right outside the door and will normally cost around 60 to 80 pesos from La Punta, depending on the time you decide to leave.
When to visit Cactus
The locals say… If you are in Puerto, Cactus Beach Club is definitely one of the main places to visit in Puerto Escondido.
It doesn’t matter if you go to the restaurant bar during the day, or to the club at night, we guarantee you will have a great time.
Cactus Restaurant & Bar
The Cactus restaurant is a great location for a nice meal with a prime beach view. Their menu includes delicious fish tacos, grilled shrimp, avocado salad, or a classic pizza.
Their most popular drinks are the Orange-Apple Mezcalita, Cucumber Mojito, and Tamarindo’s Mezcal.
At 20:00, the restaurant starts to clear up to get ready for the party.
Cactus Nightlife
For party time, this venue is always open on Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. However, it’s known that Monday it’s the best day to go to Cactus as they have the Blue Monday party.
The club opens at 10:00 pm and entry is free until midnight, the time when the crowds start to arrive. After 12:00 am you need to pay a $100 peso entry fee to enter unless there’s a special event, in which case the price may vary.
The tickets are available at the entrance and they accept cards (Visa or Mastercard) and cash.
Most of the DJs in Cactus are part of Cencalli Music, some others are guests for a few nights. However, they already have a group of resident DJs in the house, such as Heck, Aldo Oax, and Junior LP.
The spot offers wide space to dance on the beach, and it normally gets really busy by around 1 – 2 am. In addition to the sand dance floor, Cactus also has a VIP balcony that’s usually for reservations.
Unlike the restaurant, during the night people drink beers and mezcal. However, there are some stalls on the inside to get some food and the burgers are really popular – a perfect snack for when the bar closes at 5:00 am and they kick you out.
