Casa Wabi, Puerto Escondido is an art foundation that is located approximately 40 minutes North East of the town center.
Gabriel Orozco, a famous Mexican artist founded Casa Wabi and which is a dedication to contemporary art.
Located overlooking the Pacific Ocean, Casa Wabi is located on a property and hosts a lot of exhibitions and cultural events throughout the year.
The price of entry is based on donation however it is recommended to pay 600 pesos which are approximately $30 USD.
Casa Wabi is open Monday to Friday between the hours of 10 am, 12pm and 4 pm and on Saturday and Sunday it’s open from 10 am, 12 pm and 2pm.

To get to Casa Wabi, the most convenient option is to take a taxi or drive your own vehicle. The journey takes approximately 40 minutes and a taxi ride will cost approximately 700 pesos.
Alternatively, if you have your own vehicle, the roads are in good condition and allow for an easy self-driven trip.

Gabriel Orozco
Gabriel Orozco is a Mexican artist born in 1962 in Veracruz, Mexico. He was trained in art in Mexico City at the Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas.
His work has been featured in a number of museums around the world with the most renowned being the Museum of Modern Art in New York as well as Tate Modern in London.
Tadao Ando
A Japanese architect, Tadao Ando is famous for his use of concrete as the main building material. He was born in Osaka in 1941 and only turned his sights to architecture later on in his career.
Ando has designed a number of museums, galleries, and public spaces with the Rokko Housing Complex in Kobe and the Pulitzer Foundation for the Arts in Missouri as some of his most notable.
