Chicama is a fancy and very popular restaurant located in La Punta, Puerto Escondido. Well known for being a Peruvian restaurant with a specialty for seafood, we would definitely recommend coming here for dinner.

The restaurant is very popular and you’ll normally find a line out the door which is a good indication of the quality of food you get when eating here.
The restaurant doesn’t take reservations so if you want to guarantee yourself a table without having to wait you may need to sacrifice one sunset as after the sun goes down the place is incredibly busy.
Chicama has low seating with gorgeous large Perotta wooden tables which allow for a very social atmosphere while enjoying the incredible food they have to offer.
One of the most popular dishes here is the ceviche which is a seafood dish with diced cubes of raw fish which is marinated in lemon or lime.
Ceviche originated from Peru so the fact that you’re in a Peruvian restaurant gives you even more reason to try the dish here.
Besides its amazing food, the place is also popular for having great drinks and an incredibly friendly atmosphere. They usually play traditional Latin music all night long.
Even if it’s a bit busy, the service is excellent and the food won’t take more than 10-15 minutes to be delivered to your table. All the food is fresh and prepared at the moment.
Chicama also has a small bar, so this place is ideal to have some drinks and enjoy the cumbia music before going out.

Chicama Menu
Known for its tasty Peruvian food, Chicama has a large variety of ceviches, tiraditos, ensaladas, and more. The food is a little bit expensive with dishes costing approximately 200 pesos a piece.
However, the price is well justified as the quality of the food is amazing and the restaurant is one of the most popular in all of Puerto Escondido.
Chicama is ideal for those who like raw and exotic food. Their most popular dishes are the black raw fish and the anticuchos, which are marinated beef hearts.
One thing to consider is that their menu is very meat-friendly, but there are a couple of dishes for vegans or vegetarians.
For drinks, they have a selective choice of cocktails, including a Pisco Sour and a variety of mezcal.
