Fish Shack is a very popular little restaurant that is located one street back from the beach in La Punta. If you want to ensure you get a seat when visiting here we would recommend coming before sunset as otherwise, it is very busy.
The seating options are limited so they will normally seat you at a communal table with other guests which are great if you like to meet new people.

Fish Shack is a popular restaurant that offers great seafood and mezcal, some say they have the best fish tacos in Puerto Escondido.
The most popular dishes on the menu are by far the coconut shrimp tacos, the fried shrimp tacos, and the cauliflower basket.
Make sure you try their matcha sauce with every dish but be careful, it might be too spicy.
Even if they offer a lot of seafood dishes, Fish Shack is also vegetarian friendly with their cauliflower tacos, mushrooms al ajillo tacos, or their vegetable baskets.
Take a good look at the menu or ask the waiter/waitress because sometimes certain dishes can take up to 25 minutes to be ready, but the service is usually very fast.
For drinks, don’t forget to try their Micheladas with your favorite beer, and the mezcal of the house it’s also a must.
The Fish Shack hosts a Sunday Brunch from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm with a special menu for the day, however, the regular menu is always an option.
They accept cash and card, but the minimum to use the card is 300 pesos and there are no individual tabs.
It’s open from Tuesday to Sunday from 1:00 pm to 10:00 pm, but its prime time is after sunset when people are coming back from the beach, so after 7:00 pm it might be complicated to get a table.
However, you can book a table for your party, but you need to be on time. Otherwise, they’ll just wait five minutes and give the table to someone else.
